Our tiny little Chef’s hair has started to grow back. Soft and short, but just long enough for her sister to snip a few lines, remember Kid and Play?, into the back of her head. Photos to follow.
Last night I woke her up around 11:00 to give her five pills of methotrexate, and one 6-MP. Sometimes, when I remember I can give her the MTX when she goes to bed, but the other needs to be on an empty stomach, with NO dairy or citrus. Because we almost always have some sort of cheese or milk for dinner, I just wake her up.
On Tuesday she sometimes wakes up with dark circles. The biggest change I notice is in her demeanor. She can be quite moody. For the most part she does seem to handle the medicine well, BUT, she is still on chemo with a weakened immune system. We must remember this.
The best part of long term maintenance is all the giggling. Ever since at least February she has been overall a happier child. Love love love the giggles.
Thanks for reading.
