Setback

Each time the chemo is dependent on counts I wonder which is better, getting delayed or staying on track. The delay will allow Isa’s counts to recover and hopefully give her a chance to get an appetite and add some weight. But staying on track means that her counts are good and that we will get finished with these treatments faster.

Too low to get any chemo. We have another appointment scheduled for Friday, the 11th. (Papa’s Birthday) Put down your ideas about how to celebrate a birthday on a day when your child is getting chemo.

I can understand completely your comment about the delay…on the one hand, you want your child to receive the necessary treatments on time, but on the other hand, you celebrate the fact that she will have a few more days without the toxins runnning through her body.

As far as celebrating a birthday on the day your child is receiving chemo…celebrate the fact that the chemo is doing it’s job and that the birthday boy will get a chance to see his “extended family” on that day. Make him wear a birthday hat and I am sure the nurses will fawn over him too…lol.

Ha. Ha… Not sure what you mean… There is no way I am getting my husband to wear a birthday hat to the hospital. Just thinking about it is making me laugh out loud for reals!

Sorry to hear about the delay. Wowser that is some low ANC. BIG BUMMER. We will be hoping for Isa a higher ANC this Friday. What do they like to see your ANC at? I think it is 750 for us. Hopefully Papa can have a rockin birthday party next year. Shoot everyone in your family deserves a rockin birthday party next year. Good luck.
