Everything is Chemotherapy
To allay any confusion, chemotherapy is anything chemical used to treat disease, and in Isa’s case to treat leukemia blasts. Usually these chemicals are cytotoxic, which means that they kill cells. Sometimes, they work differently, rather than killing they may replace some needed nutrient.
Every single drug that Isa receives is chemotherapy. Check the schedule for the specific drugs she is taking.
- Sometimes it is in liquid form.
- Sometimes in pill form.
- Sometimes it goes in through her port.
- Sometimes as a shot
- Or into her spinal fluid.
But it is all chemotherapy.
