Organizations That Help

So many children become inflicted with cancer and other life threatening diseases each year. Some of them die. Each day I realize that death hasn’t completely left us alone yet. I choose to behave in a positive manner by believing that Isa’s healthy cells will prevail. Yet each time I read one of these foundation website stories, I cry for what I could lose. I cry for the children who have already crossed over and for their parents. I cry because, I can’t predict how Isa will respond.

Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation

This organization helps families with a single parent afford to be beside their child with a devastating illness.

Tony’s Room

A group that builds rooms for kids that need safe rooms to get better after bone-marrow.

Bear 2 Care

They give bears to kids in the hospital with terminal diseases.

Chemo Duck

A great site that helps kids understand their own cancer.

Ray’s Sunshine Foundation

This is an organization founded after the passing of a little boy named Ray.

Zoe’s Bone Marrow Buddies

This organization sponsored our session of Flashes of Hope.

Bags of Fun

The original chapter began in Colorado. This organization has CHAPTERS, that can be formed across the country. A great idea for those of you in the rest of the world.  You can request bags online via Gabby’s original chapter.

Treasure Chest Foundation

After each procedure Isa can pick a toy. They have some good stuff. So good that we’ve had fights over the stuff we bring home. The older children aren’t left out, they even have stuff for teenagers.

World’s Greatest Shave
I didn’t participate, but I thought about it.

Ideally, once the end has passed for us,  I will either participate in fundraising for some of these groups or start my own. Every little bit counts.
